We enriched our collection with new natural fibers produced using zero-cotton that looks and gives good feelings like cotton. Here, we would like to introduce you to our fabrics containing FRUTFIBER™, PLNTFIBER™, and these new natural raw materials.

As we guess, inspiration and innovative solutions to diversify materials have been found again in nature. FRUTFIBER™ and PLNTFIBER™ joined the list of renewable, 100% natural, natural biodegradable new textile raw materials.

Innovative fabrics blended with FRUTFIBER™ are now available at Özen which is made of the fibers of banana and pineapple leaves fibers left after the fruit harvest of the food industry.

Moreover; PLNTFIBER™, which is created with the use of renewable, fast-growing plants such as Himalayan nettle, bamboo, eucalyptus, and seaweed, are among our new sustainable natural raw materials.

Conversion Of Banana & Pineapple Leaves Into Fabric: FRUTFIBER™

FRUTFIBER™ is created by a mix of pineapple and banana leaf fibers. These natural materials, which are generally considered agricultural waste, are converted by using responsibly sourced bamboo lyocell. Thus, the conversion of agricultural wastes into fabrics supports savings.

The new natural raw material solutions use the production wastes (leaves) of the fruit industry. These abundant and fast-growing plants not only help for alternative solutions to traditional cotton usage but also provide for the restoration of carbon-locked fields.

The new natural fiber sources also prevent damage to local ecosystems and increase the long-term fertility of the soil by stopping the dumping or burning of the fibrous leaves in landfills by the food industry after the fruit harvest.

Moreover; the FRUTFIBER™ is blended with the bamboo lyocell which is a fast-growing and non-food crop. The closed-loop production system supports water and energy savings by reusing the solvents. The growth of bamboo contributes to the building of healthy soils and carbon absorption, it naturally helps to reduce the effects of climate change.

Miracle Of Nettle and The Plants That Are The Source Of Natural Fibers: PLNTFIBER™

PLNTFIBER™ is obtained from a mixture of seaweed, Himalayan nettle fiber, bamboo lyocell, and eucalyptus lyocell. This means, it is made of fast-growing, rarely used, and consumed plants, and which are doesn't need pesticides, fertilizers, or irrigation.

The Himalayan nettle, as a non-food product, helps erosion control, while it can grow in very poor lands with no need for pesticides and fertilizers. Therefore, it's valuable and important as a sustainable and natural textile raw material. In addition, it supports the economy of local people with responsible production principles.
