TRANSFORMING LEFT-OVERS FROM FOOD AND MEDICINE CROPS INTO FASHION PRODUCTS

Development of technology, sustainability-focused production & consumption approaches, and recycling of pre-consumption and post-consumption sources provide environmental-friendly raw material solutions to the fashion industry. In particular, the circulation and recycling of the residues generated during the production process make it possible to access less costly and quality raw materials.

Bio-fibers obtained from the left-overs of completely natural agricultural crops are circling into new natural fibers and textile products are produced by them. Thus, water, energy and carbon consumption are reduced and a raw material source is provided to the textile industry.

The transforming parts of the stems and leaves of various food and medicine raw materials such as oilseed hemp/flax, CBD hemp, banana and pineapple are turned into cellulose fibers with a specialized wet processing technique. Natural raw materials are provided for sustainable fashion by producing yarn and fabric from this highly refined, 100% natural fiber. Finishing methods that are produced by bio-soft seeds are applied in the fabric finishing process to provide natural softening. Sustainable fashion products are implemented by making the best use of natural resources.

While the fibers obtained leftovers from plant stems and leaves give the fabric durability, texture, and breathable structural features, the finishes obtained by evaluating bio-soft seeds are used to give the fabric surface a natural softness.
